Responsibilities

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

In order to support the rapid and continued growth of the Tribology, Stylus & Optical Metrology Business Unit (TSOM) along with Bruker Semiconductor Division (BSEMI), Bruker wishes to appoint a Senior Staff Applications Engineer-SEMI, based at the TSOM headquarters in San Jose, CA.

 

Reporting into the TSOM Senior Manager of Applications, the primary goal for this new position is to provide the advanced, senior level applications knowledge on optical metrology for semiconductor applications required to support the continued growth of Bruker white light interferometry (WLI) line into semiconductor customers.

 

SUPERVISES: N/A

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

Be the senior, technology resource for the Bruker’s WLI semiconductor product line.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

 

  1. Active support of the sales process by answering advanced applications questions from Bruker employees, customers and channel partners.
  2. Support the Sales team on key Sales cases, responding to RFQ (Request for Quote), responding to PSPEC (Product Specification) documents, etc.
  3. Provide input for the production of application documents to support sales e.g. applications notes, presentations, web content, brochures, competitive information etc.
  4. Training of other Bruker staff, channel partners and customers in semiconductor optical metrology applications, optimization testing within the fab environment and advanced data analysis.
  5. Assisting the sales team in communicating key and unique product features that relate to customer applications requirements through customer visits, discussions etc.
  6. Assisting Service team in preparation for new installations of WLI products in customer fabs.
  7. Coordinating and performing product demonstrations & sample measurements. (key sales demonstrations)  
  8. Reporting to the senior management and product marketing groups on market and competitive trends.
  9. Contributing to the development of business strategies.
  10. Providing advanced applications and design input for new product development.
  11. Testing alpha and beta prototypes and providing feedback to alpha and beta product development team.

 ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Qualifications

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Usual office working conditions with a large percentage of time spent using a computer and performing product demonstrations. Travel is a requirement of the position.  Travel will be both domestic and international (30%).  

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

 

  1. Excellent inter-personal communication skills
  2. A positive team player, self-motivated with good analytical skills
  3. Energetic self-starter with a strong work ethic.
  4. Must be able to travel
  5. Fluent in English, other languages an advantage
  6. Familiar with MS office software.

 

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

 

  1. Requires a minimum of a Master’s degree in a technical field.                              
  1. Extensive knowledge and broad experience in the field of semiconductor fabrication or metrology of no less than 4 years
  2. Direct experience in optical measurement techniques in the semiconductor field a significant advantage.
