The job holder has the responsibility to develop the software which comes along with the SPR measurement instruments that are developed by Bruker Daltonics in Hamburg. Since the software is developed in a small team, a hight amount of self-responsibility is expected.


  • Design and development of a new analysis software which is used to evaluate the data that are recorded by our instruments. Typical analyses contain steps like data cleaning, filtering, fitting and visualizing the results
  • The development is mainly done in C#, for the hardware-closer components of our control software C++ is also used
  • The user interface of our future software projects will be implemented in WPF using the MVVM design pattern. Hence, a big part of the work will be the design and implementation of GUI components
  • Accompany the design and development of a new analysis application
  • Designing the user interface using WPF
  • Implementing specified subcomponents
  • Writting unit tests for automated testing


This position reports directly to the Director of R&D SPR.



  • Degree in informatics, engineering disciplines, or natural science
  • At least some years of experience with C# development. Also C++ might be helpful
  • Expericence with C# GUI development using WPF
  • Knowledge of the most common desing patterns like MVVM or those known from the GoF
  • Nice to have: experience with reactive programming
  • Logical and scientific thinking and a deep understanding of the idea of object oriented programming
  • Interest in natural science. It is important to get a comprehensive understanding about what our instruments measure and how the recorded assays are to be evaluated in order to develop the analysis software
  • Interrest in and a feel for designing user interfaces
  • Solid scientific English language skills; fluent in spoken and written English
