    We are looking for:

    • Engineer for Product Development
    • R&D Department Bruker AXS Penang. Development of table top analytical instruments for Optical Emission Spectrometry, X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometry, X-Ray Diffraction. Support of Operations in producing and testing this equipment.

    Responsibilities

    • Project management of product development
    • Develop and optimize products and components
    • Define and optimize workflows of instrument and software
    • Support product Ramp to serial production, review standard operating procedures,
      approve quality standard of assembled product, improve assembly and testing process
    • Design and maintain Software for system control and/or data processing
    • Design and perform Software testing
    • Design of high precision mechanical parts and assemblies used in Analytical Instrumentation
    • Design and support production tools and test equipment.
    • Material evaluation/selection, prototyping, testing, part approval
    • Engineering Change Management together with Operations, Purchasing, Vendors
    • Maintain existing portfolio together with Operations, Purchasing, Vendors
    • Efficient cooperation with engineering in electronics, SW, and Physics including other Bruker sites and vendors

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor, Master or PhD in the field of Mechanical Design, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, or Material Science
    • 2 years’ experience of R&D in industry
    • Ideal candidates would have experience in spectroscopy, diffraction, optics, analytical instrumentation, or analystics - OES, XRD, or XRF
    • Experience in project management
    • Computer Science expert should cover at least part of .NET Framework, C#, GUI programming in Windows (Windows Forms, WPF), SQL, Linux, C++ embedded systems
    • Mechanical Design Engineer should be solid in 3D CAD, preferably Solid Words and have experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP)
    • DfX, especially design for manufacturing, design for assembly
    • DFMEA (design failure mode & effect analysis), FEA (Finite Element Analysis),
      tolerance analysis
    • Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
    • Appreciation and understanding of different cultures and religions
    • Very good communication skills for both intern and world-wide teleconferences in English
    • Assignment might require 1-2 month training session at a Bruker factory in Germany. Occasional yearly travel to Germany within R&D projects
