    Responsibilities

    New opportunity for a Cost Accountant to join the Bruker NANO Finance Team. Will be responsible for daily functions of cost accounting and inventory control for the BNS Division business units by providing cost estimates; recording and analyzing labor and overhead costs; controlling and maintaining project costing data; preparing inventory metrics and roll forward reports, preparing respective journal entries and inventory account reconciliations, analyzing freight costs and inventory receipts transactions; controlling the capital expenditures process; maintaining the physical count and tagging of all fixed assets; performing monthly cycle counts audits; and performing other general accounting functions. This position will also be responsible for assisting in audits, improving business processes, cross-training functions within the Finance Team, and other projects.  

     

    Cost Accounting (30%):

    • Production Accounting
    • Labor Tracking and Reporting
    • Variance Analysis
    • Project Cost Accounting

     

    Inventory (25%):

    • Account Control and Reconciliations
    • Production (RM/WIP/FG), Demo, Software, and Service
    • Cycle Count Audits

     

    General Accounting (20%):

    • Month-End Journal Entries
    • Cost Accounting/Inventory/Fixed Assets
    • Inventory Accounts Reconciliations
    • RBNI (Received But Not Invoiced) Analysis
    • Freight Analysis

     

    Reporting (10%):

    • Inventory Metrics & Roll forwards

     

    General Areas (10%):

    • Audits (External & Internal)
    • Internal Control Compliance
    • Process Improvements
    • Cross Training within the Finance Team 

    Fixed Assets (5%):

    • Physical Count and Tagging

     

    Perform other duties as required.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
    • Minimum 8 years cost accounting and general accounting work experience in the manufacturing industry and ERP environment of a medium-large global company
    • CPA and/or CMA preferred
    • APICS certification preferred
    • SAP experience preferred
    • Thorough knowledge of US GAAP financial and accounting practices and procedures
    • Advanced working knowledge of cost accounting and inventory functions and controls
    • Solid working knowledge of the monthly closing process, forecasting, and budgeting processes
    • Strong knowledge of the requirement and importance of strong of internal controls (example: Sarbanes Oxley)
    • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent technology skills, including advanced Excel and MS Office Suite skills including spreadsheet expertise utilizing macros, pivot tables, and advanced functions
    • Proven ability to organize, coordinate, direct, lead and guide projects.
    • Solid analytical, organizational, problem solving, time management skills with excellent attention to detail
    • Valid Driver License in good standing, issued by resident state required
    • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required
    • Maintain a valid passport with flexibility for domestic and international travel
    • May be required to pass security clearance investigation.
