Responsibilities

The primary responsibilityof the Support Engineer, is to provide support to the customers and engineers via telephone, WebEx/TeamViewer and Helplightning to diagnose and resolve problems with Optical Emmission Spectroscopy (OES) and Combustion Gas Analyzers (CGA).  Travel to perform the installation, repair and maintenance of Bruker systems in the field is at 50% or higher.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

Provide technical phone support to customers and field service personnel worldwide for Bruker AXS products.

 

Provide basic applications support to customers and engineers to ensure customers can run routine Optical Emission Spectroscopy and Combustion Gas Analysis experiments.

 

Travel as necessary to perform installations, repairs and maintenance.

 

Perform system repairs and maintain repair documentation of customer material and return to stock parts from the field.

 

Provide input and create service bulletins and other technical documentation.

 

Configure computers and peripherals as required

 

Contribute to the development and delivery of service training classes.

 

Assist in the development and updating of technical maintenance manuals.

 

Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing to resolve hardware and software problems in the field. Ensure Corrective/Preventive Action Reports (CPAR) are submitted as necessary.

 

Perform other tasks as assigned by manager or supervisor.

 

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

 

 

 

Demonstrated ability to analyze, diagnose, and repair complex equipment problems in a minimum amount of time.

 

Ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner with both internal and external customers.

 

Familiarity with the operation and use of standard electronic test equipment.

 

Familiarity with the use of personal computers.

 

Performance of this position is critical to Bruker AXS Inc., including reporting to work every day as scheduled and making arrangements for necessary absences as far in advance as possible with the manager, or supervisor.

 

Requires ability to travel 50% (domestic travel)

 

 

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

 

AA degree in electronics, or equivalent experience.

 

Military training in advanced electronics preferred. 

 

3 years previous service experience installing and repairing complex electronic
systems.
