    SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The Customer Service Engineer at Bruker Nano Surfaces  is responsible to help our customers succeed in all post-sales activities with Hysitron Product equipment.  This technical role works directly with our customers through customer site instrument installations, after sale technical support, and service document generation. This position will report to the Director of Customer Service. 



    1. (70%) - Post sale customer technical support including:
    • Installation of Hysitron instruments to ensure full functionality according to specifications at customers’ sites. (10%)
    • Training customers on the basic operation of Hysitron’s products via training sessions and presentations both onsite and remote. (20%)
    • Assisting customers in developing test methods for investigation of a variety of different material types. (10%)
    • Provide technical assistance to customer inquiries (hardware and applications oriented) via telephone and email (15%)
    • Troubleshooting of instrument and analyzing problems during installations and technical support calls (15%)
    1. (30%) Other Service Department responsibilities including:
    • Generation of manuals and other training documentation. (5%)
    • Incoming inspection, troubleshooting and logging of RMA equipment (10%)
    • Generation of reports (written and verbal) from installations to be submitted to the Director of Customer Service. (5%)
    • Suggest changes to Hysitron products based on experience and customer feedback (5%)
    • Report existing or potential customer service issues to the Customer Service Manager (5%)


      Additional Responsibilities (Non-essential Job Functions)

      • General knowledge and understanding of Hysitron product line.
      • Ability to work with members of management and customers in a professional manner.
      • Performs other duties as assigned.



    Bachelors degree in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science (or equivalent).  0-2 years experience in field service environment.


    Ability to travel 30% of the time, occasionally international.
