    Responsibilities

    Documentation Control Specialist serves as the primary communication link between Manufacturing, Engineering, Service, and Marketing on product release documentation. Responsibilities include the review of released and unreleased engineering change data, maintenance of revisions, engineering drawings, production changes and ECOs that are accurate and in compliance to configuration management procedures, policies, catalogues, and databases. Additional duties include the maintenance and updates of logs; databases and catalogues used in production and the service of all products.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Implement, manage, and maintain the company control process for all controlled
      • Formats, revises, numbers, issues, and tracks controlled documents and materials. 
    • Coordinate activities associated with the implementation and support of the Engineering Change Order (ECO)
      • Database administration
      • Coordination of ECO review and approvals
      • Tracking and reporting of ECO progress
      • Closure of implementation activities
      • Maintenance and storage of ECO records
      • Provide assistance and guidance to personnel for processing their controlled document through the ECO process and resolve specific documentation problems
      • Administration and maintenance of all Engineering Documentation
        • SolidEdge and SolidWorks 3-D data and 2-D drawing files
        • MSWord and MSExcel documents
        • eCAD(Electrical CAD) data files
        • Other miscellaneous data and filetypes
        • ECO creation as assigned
      • Creation and maintenance of data integrity in SAP
        • Material masters
        • Revision History
        • Bill of Materials (BOM)
        • Routings
        • Variant Configurations
      • Support Specials Process
        • Creation of SPC numbers and BOMs in SAP
      • Administration of Software Keys for production orders

     

    Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Visio, Outlook).
    • Experience with ERP
    • Experience with Configuration Control and/or Document Control
    • Experience with CAD data management, SolidWorks and/or SolidEdge. Preferred Qualifications:
    • Training in, or experience with SAP
      • Experience with SAP Variant Configurator a PLUS
    • Experience with PLM(Product Life Cycle Management) Tools
      • Autodesk Fusion Lifecycle
      • SolidWorks Enterprise PDM
    • Knowledge of relational databases(Access, Sequel)

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Typical percentages, actual may vary month to month):

    • SAP Data Creation and Maintenance – 40% Engineering Change Process – 30%
    • Other Projects – 20%
    • Software Key Administration – 10%

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Detailed-oriented
    • Strong typing skills

    EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    AA/AS degree or equivalent required with a minimum of 5 years related experience or training.
