  • Overview

Bruker’s Semiconductor (BSEMI) Division is the leader in advanced X-ray and AFM metrology for the semiconductor and compound semiconductor industries. The BSEMI division offers the most comprehensive portfolio of tools, based on AFM and X-ray technologies including XRR (X-ray reflectometry), XRF (X-ray fluorescence), XRD (X-ray diffraction), XRDI (X-ray diffraction imaging), XCD (X-ray Critical dimension), and others.
We are looking for a talented engineer or scientist to join BESMI to introduce and establish a new X-ray based critical dimension (CD) metrology technology for the semiconductor industry.

    • Primary customer applications expert for critical dimension metrology.
    • Provides technical expertise through customer consultation, product demonstrations, installation and maintenance of company products.
    • Assists customers with assessing potential critical dimension applications to meet process metrology needs and preparing detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer applications/solutions.
    • May build an application based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping and/or product demo for client.
    • May provide software development and consultation to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation.
    • Support of the core X-ray based CD (XCD™), engineering and production teams in qualification of new technologies, algorithms, methodologies, software and hardware features.
    • Ensures that the product application/solution is functioning according to specifications including source inspection of the tools prior to shipment and following installation.
    • May provide follow-up support to company sales staff and customer personnel by disseminating technical information on specific applications.
    • Will work with our customers from prior to the sale, through delivery and installation.
    • Work in close cooperation with our factory engineers and scientists.

    1. Degree in material science, chemical engineering, chemistry or physics (B.Sc. minimum, M.Sc. or PhD is preferred)
    2. Prior 5 - 10 years experience in a semiconductor fab, preferably with critical dimension metrology systems.
    3. Familiarity with metrology and characterization techniques (preferably hands-on work and results analysis).  Experience in matching and CD analysis of the different metrology techniques preferred.
    4. Good knowledge of statistics and data analysis.
    5. Fluent in English and experience in technical writing
    6. Demonstrated oral & written communications and interpersonal relationship skills, particularly intercultural skills; strong customer orientation.
