  • Overview

    Bruker Optics is seeking a Sales Representative to be located in the Southern United States. This position will be responsible for sales of Bruker Optics FT-NIR spectrometer systems in the Food and Agriculture Solutions (FAS) business unit. The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in sales of Analytical Instruments in FAS markets in the southern United States. Candidates with experience selling or using NIR instruments in the Livestock Feed and Pet Food industries are of particular interest for this position.

    Responsibilities

    • Providing timely follow-up to prospects and customers.
    • Cold calling and industry sector business development
    • Provide technical support, pre-sale support, and manage post-sales activities to support the efforts of the Sales Director.
    • Responsible for revenue growth through application specific sales, installation follow up, system selection and field support for end-customers.
    • Perform customer and sales opportunity maintenance in an SAP customer relationship management (CRM) system,
    • Travel as necessary within the territory for sales and support functions to achieve territory sales goals.
    • Travel outside the territory, as directed by the Regional Sales Manager or the Vice President of Sales, for sales meetings and training.
    • Work with the Sales Director to write a territory market segment sales account plan before the beginning of each calendar year.
    • Assist in the development of technical seminars, Lunch and Learns, customer product presentations and participate in local, regional and national trade shows as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • B.Sc. in chemistry/biochemistry/food science, animal nutrition or equivalent degree along with work experience focusing on FAS markets and applications. 
    • Essential to have experience with contact management database software, and MS Office.  Must be able to learn new software packages; e.g. Adobe Acrobat.   
    • Excellent communications skills needed to work with a wide variety of knowledge levels with customers of differing backgrounds, and within company (e.g. management, service applications).

    • If located outside of a Bruker office, the ability to maintain a home office with Phone and Internet is essential

    • Must have flexibility, ability to prioritize and manage differing time constraints: time management is essential.
