    Bruker Daltonics microbiology and diagnostics division offers disruptive technologies to produce rapid, accurate and cost effective microbial isolates characterization. The MALDI Biotyper is a revolutionary product which uses Mass Spectroscopy to confirm, identify or characterize bacteria, yeasts and molds. The new IR Biotyper based on Infra-Red Spectroscopy enables fast and easy strains typing. The Bruker MALDI Biotyper National Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining the business in the applicable markets (clinical, veterinary, pharmaceutical, public health and food/beverage) in conjunction with the field sales team and business development resources. The objectives include sales, positioning and driving to accelerate sales and knowledge within the market segment.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Develops and manages targets and goals for the sales force in the specified region with direct supervision for eight (8) local area field sales representatives.
    • Responsible for meeting or exceeding regions’ defined sales volume goals; develops strategies for driving team toward goals. 
    • Ensures an efficient sales process to include lead generation and qualification, sales funnel management, demo set-up, closing, placement of instruments, including careful usage of Product Specialists / applications & demonstration / service resources.
    • Assists and mentors field sales representatives to effectively manage their local regions and help identify and close deals focusing on key accounts; provides a conduit to feedback info to marketing / sales / service / apps and logistics.
    • Travels with field representatives regularly (several days / months each rep) to assist and monitor progress in specific regions.
    • Organizes regular regional sales meetings and phone calls, territory-specific events (eg Sales “Roadshows” with Marketing backup).
    • Communicates regularly with Sr. Management and provides a detailed monthly report of activities performed, accurate monthly sales forecasts, NOB statistics and competitive information, and won / lost POs. 
    • Manages expenses to assigned targets for assigned team.

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     • Deep knowledge of all arenas of microbiology
    • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and guidelines for promotional/sales tools.
    • Ability to promote Bruker’s product and services to a variety of prospects and customers.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills.

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology or related discipline or equivalent experience required.  Advanced degree and/or business degree is a plus. 
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience, with demonstrated success in sales. Working knowledge and experience with WIN, Office, Outlook, CRM Tools.
    • Experience with sales, business growth, lead generation is preferred
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple responsibilities

Usual office working conditions for 50% of their time and travel will be expected both for sales activities as well as participation in local, regional and national shows.
