    Head of Business Unit – Industrial, incl. Forensics / Product Manager Next Generation Minispec

    The Head of the Business Unit is responsible for developing a focused Growth Strategy and the successful execution thereof.

    He/She will gradually increase AIC’s market share in the Industrial Markets with a competitive and value rich end-to-end solution portfolio and as such, establishes BBIO/AIC as a leading solution provider. He/She understands well the Industrial market dynamics and has deep insight in its end-to-end value chains.

    As Business Unit Head, he/she will take direct responsibility for a few selected strategic Industrial Key Accounts (KA), in which he/she maximizes AIC’s account share and pursues adoption of AIC’s solution portfolio throughout the KA value chain.

     

    The main responsibility of the Product Manager is to focus on the active portfolio management for the “Next Generation Minispec” instrument platform during its entire lifecycle: from identification and development of value proposition (instrument and applications* portfolio), to Launch until End of Life. Since the “Next Generation Minispec” instrument platform will be used in markets managed by a different BBIO division, the PM is also responsible for the “Next Generation Minispec” instruments, marketed by the MPM (Marketing-Product-Management) function of other divisions (the major user principle applies).

     

    Responsibilities

    Head of Business Unit - Industrial:

    • Develops and executes a focused 3-Horizon Growth Strategy for the Industrial Market
    • Has accountability for Business Performance (Gross Margin, Return on Investment, New Product Vitality Rate, Time to Money, Market Share) in Industrial Markets.
    • Establishes a uniquely differentiated and value-rich solution offering with an attractive and competitive total cost of ownership.
    • Lean Customer Development in Industrial Market: identifies customers’ pain points / creates new winning concepts in cooperation with customer
    • Will closely work with the AIC Global Head of Sales to identify a balanced mix of Global & Domestic accounts as potential customers, qualify & maximize AIC’s business potential for a “Design-In” according to Miller Heiman methodology and establish sustainable business co-operations with their Decision & Buyer Center in order to deliver the business performance (NOB, Revenue, GM) according to the annual and quarterly plan
    • Will be partner with Application Development
    • Will closely work with BBIO Marcom to define business relevant Outbound Marketing Programs (new solution launches and lead generation programs)

    Product Manager (PM) Next Generation Minispec instrument platform:

    • Product Portfolio Management of “Next Generation Minispec” portfolio for AIC Markets, including accountability for profitability (COGS/GM) of the product-line as a whole.
    • Balances technology leadership with “easy to use”, “easy to integrate” and adoption gains with a strong focus on customer’s value chain benefits and Customer Total Cost of Ownership. Enriches value proposition (TCO) for value chains for TD-NMR portfolio in AIC markets.
    • Life Cycle Management, including accountability of the stage gating process and corrective measures for maturity, functionality and business performance of all products of the assigned product portfolio
    • Initially Interfaces with Market Management or Business Unit Management, divisional application development, central R&D and Sales Operations for TD-NMR portfolio. Recommends new application solutions, developments or enhancements as a result of customer and/or sales force feedback
    • Creation of Product Requirement Documents (PRD), including “Use Cases” and “Design for X” requirements as well as of Lean Business canvas for new application developments

     

    Qualifications

     

    • Minimum of 3 - 5 years professional experience in Business Unit management or in a Market Product Management Function, advanced degree preferred
    • A demonstrable track record of business unit management and/or of creating a sustainable profitable business in end-to-end value chains of certain industrial or applied market segments.
    • Relevant technical expertise in the fields of applications (chemnistry)/ NMR methodology of the assigned portfolio, especially in NMR, IR/Raman and Mass Spectrometry
    • Experience with benchtop NMR (in PM role)
    • Expertise with Value chain management and the provision of technical solutions to address a business requirement in the value chain.
    • Excellent knowledge and professional experience in product portfolio management
    • Track record of disciplined and successful (business perspective) project management
    • Profound understanding and experience in lean business innovation and lean development processes
    • A team player, who is also comfortable working autonomously, People management experience preferred
    • Excellent communications skills
    • Good English and German language skills
    • Demonstrable self-starter and highly motivated professional
    • Ability for world-wide travelling up to 40%
