    Responsibilities

    SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

    This position is responsible for the integration and qualification of complete and partial systems for various Bruker product lines.  Each system is assembled and tested to a specific customer order requiring timeliness of completion and accuracy of configuration.  This job includes trouble shooting and the correction of mechanical and electrical problems and requires skill in these areas.  The position requires an ability to work productively individually or as part of a group.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Completion of customer orders – 80%
    • Quality improvement projects – 10%
    • Other product or process related projects – 10%

     

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
    May include:

    • Participation on new product release teams
    • Conducting training on the testing and use of Bruker systems
    • Participating in improvement projects
    • Other duties as assigned

     

    TRAVEL:

    • Assignment will begin with a 1-2 month training session at a Bruker factory. Details will be determined when a job offer is presented to the successful candidate. Additional travel and training may be required when a new Bruker product is to be transferred to the Penang facility; it is unlikely that such training will be required more than once every two years, but exceptions are possible.

    Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Ability to perform corrective actions based on test results
    • Advanced ability to trouble shoot mechanical, electrical, and system issues
    • Ability to perform electrical and mechanical precision alignment, i.e. z-corrections as well as pitch and linearity corrections
    • Interfacing with ME and R&D on prototype builds and testing, with limited written instruction
    • Basic computer skills; Mechanical and Electrical troubleshooting skills; Technical aptitude
    • Basic mechanical abilities required. 
    • Must be able to lift ~50 lbs.

     

    EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Typically requires 3-5 years of related experience in a manufacturing testing environment.
    • Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Electronics/Electrical/Mechatronic preferred
