    Responsibilities

    • Design of high precision mechanical parts and assemblies used in Analytical Instrumentation
    • Design and support production tools and test equipment.
    • Operations support: Support product Ramp to serial production, review standard operating procedures, approve quality standard of assembled product, improve assembly and testing process
    • Material evaluation/selection, prototyping, testing, part approval
    • Engineering Change Management together with Operations, Purchasing, Vendors
    • Efficient cooperation with engineering in electronics, SW, and Physics including other Bruker sites and vendors

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
    • 2 years experience in R&D, experience with x-ray instrumentation or analytical instrumentation appreciated
    • 3D CAD, preferably Solid Works
    • Knowledge and experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP)
    • DfX, especially design for manufacturing, design for assembly
    • DFMEA (design failure mode & effect analysis), FEA (Finite Element Analysis), tolerance analysis
    • Basic knowledge in SW appreciated
    • Basic knowledge in electronics appreciated
    • Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
    • Appreciation and understanding of different cultures and religions
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision
    • Good communication skills for both intern and world-wide teleconferences in English
    • Assignment will begin with an approx. 2 month training session at a Bruker factory in Germany. Occasional yearly travel to Germany within R&D projects
