    Responsibilities

    SUMMARY

    The Tribology, Stylus and Optical Metrology (TSOM) Engineering Team is offering an unpaid engineering Internship available to a college student currently enrolled in an accredited program in engineering or science.   The intern will work with members of the engineering team on various projects to assist in the development of new products. 

    SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Test and characterize new optical products
    • Perform basic testing of optical components and sub-assemblies.
    • Generate technical reports based on findings and conclusions from experimentation
    • Assist in preparation of standard operating procedures (SOPs), documentation of procedures, and training materials for various applications of the tool.

    ADDIITOINAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Typical office and laboratory environment.

    PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Normal visual acuity and hearing. Ability to lift up to 25lbs.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products  

    EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    Candidates must have completed at least their first year of an accredited BS degree program in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics  or Chemistry.
