    SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The shipping/receiving clerk has responsibilities to maintain inventory and material flow from the point of material be received though to the point it is packed for shipment.  Main responsibilities include:

    • Receiving and unloading incoming materials and comparing information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customers.
    • Properly handling all types of parts and components in receiving, and storing sub-assemblies and raw material in the warehouse
    • Unpacking, sorting, counting, re-packaging, labeling, and logging inventory which is received.
    • Inspecting shipments for damage or defects; recording discrepancies or damages; and notifying supervisor and/or purchasing personnel.
    • Maintaining department databases, preparing routine reports, and filing receiving and shipping records.
    • Supporting cycle counting and work order picking, as needed.
    • Operating material movement equipment (e.g., dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift) to unload and load supplies and equipment.
    • Reviewing and packing orders for shipment, including boxes, pallets and crates
    • Operating packing equipment e.g. Mini Pak’r, Sealed Air Molding Wheel, banding equipment.
    • Following established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, including continuous quality improvement objectives as well as safety and environmental standards.
    • Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Working knowledge and ability to use the Windows operating system and Microsoft based programs, i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook.
    • Ability to process orders for shipment in standard courier system software e. Fedex, UPS
    • Ability to monitor, and order shipping supplies
    • Essential cross functional team work skills, ability to communicate regularly and efficiently with Logistics team, and other departments requiring shipping assistance.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Time management skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment.
    • Working knowledge of manufacturing and inventory control methodologies
    • Excellent clerical, data entry skills to maintain integrity of inventory accuracy in database, file material records and perform routine audits.

     

     

     

     

    Qualifications

    PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must be able to work standing, sitting and walking for the majority of a scheduled shift.
    • Must be able to push cart holding up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
    • May be asked to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
    • Job requires frequent bending, stooping and kneeling.

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Experience with SAP Material Movement module is preferred.
    • Knowledge of Export compliance regulations preferred.
    • Experience and understanding of warehouse operations
    • Ability to follow daily standard work instructions, with minimal supervision, and general instructions on newly introduced assignments.

     

    EDUCATIONAL/WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Minimum of two years related shipping experience preferred.
    • Experience in fast pace technical manufacturing environment preferred.
