    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

     

    • Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customers.
    • Sorts, counts, packages, labels, insures, unpacks, and/or logs inventory which is received.
    • Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and/or purchasing personnel.
    • May maintain department database, prepare routine reports, and file receiving records.
    • May operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment.
    • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental standards.
    • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
    • Supports cycle counting and work order picking.

    Qualifications

    PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

     

    • Must be able to work standing and walking for the majority of a scheduled shift.
    • Must be able to push cart up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
    • Job requires a lot of bending, stooping and kneeling.

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

     

    Has substantial understanding of the job, and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks. Will occasionally work on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations. Normally receives little instructions on daily work, general instructions on newly introduces assignments. Experience with SAP receiving module is preferred.

     

    EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

     

    • Typically requires a minimum of 2 – 4 years of related experience.
