SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
We have an immediate opening for a Staff Mechanical Engineer to work with our Engineering department on Atomic Force Microscopes. Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 5+ years experience with mechanical design, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field. Experience with mechanical design and 3D CAD are required. Experience with motion control, optics, and electromechanical systems is highly desired. The preferred candidate will have experience in AFM, Semiconductor manufacturing, or similar high precision and high technology manufacturing or metrology equipment. Responsibilities will range from project management to task-oriented assignments. Previous applicants to Bruker for similar positions are encouraged to re-apply.
The position is temporary and part-time. A large part of the documentation work can be done offsite, but some on-site time will be required.
This position will work on Engineer to Order (ETO) specials and electromechanical assemblies/systems for those specials.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ideal candidate will have 5+ years mechanical engineering experience in AFM. Experience with mechanical design, and 3D CAD are required. Experience with motion control, optical systems integration, and electromechanical systems is highly desired. Experience in AFM, Semiconductor manufacturing, or similar high technology manufacturing or metrology equipment industry is highly desired.
Candidates should have a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field. However, other educational experience will be considered if the candidate has sufficient work experience.
The preferred candidate will have experience in AFM, Semiconductor or similar high technology manufacturing or metrology equipment.
