New opportunity based in Billerica, MA for a hands-on Maintenance Mechanic to assist with all Facilities Department responsibilities, with an emphasis on campus safety and customer support.
Bruker seeks a Facilities Maintenance Mechanic / Apprentice Electrician to assist in all facets of the Facilities Department responsibilities. The candidate should have work experience in Facilities Maintenance. Electrical experience is required with the hands on ability to perform maintenance tasks, with an emphasis on safety.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Electrical Maintenance: Assist in routine Maintenance and inspection of various electrical and mechanical equipment. Assist in electrical installations and maintenance of electrical systems under the supervision of a licensed electrician. I.E. voice /data cabling, power wiring, trouble shooting, lamp & ballast replacement, install and maintain new and existing electrical installations, various facilities electrical maintenance requirements.
General Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance of buildings and grounds, assisting in office and or departmental relocations, set up, removal, or relocation of cubicles. Installations of office and building equipment. Painting, general maintenance. Light construction. Assist in basic plumbing repairs and installations. Assist in light rigging. Assist in Emergency response mobilization for water damage, drain, power, HVAC failures, Alarm activation notification, security notification, or other facility emergency notification events. Assist in seasonal maintenance of walkways and entrances. Assist in maintaining Recycling program. Assist in routine inspection and clearing of roof drains. Assist in routine inspections of buildings and grounds. Assist in facilities related equipment inspections, trouble shooting & repair. Assist all departments in facility related matters.
Daily Administration: Assist Facilities Manager / Facilities Department with meeting with vendors, escorting personnel as required, notification and scheduling vendors, maintenance, maintenance logs, reporting, requisitions, filing data etc. Assist with OSHA and regulatory compliance. Assist the HR department in related matters. Assist in the coordination of on-site notification and dissemination of information regarding outside vendors / emergencies in Facility Managers absence in conjunction with Facility Maintenance Mechanic / Electrician.

The ability to work over-time and on call will be needed on occasion
High School Graduate, Trade schools a plus.
Minimum 1-3 years facilities maintenance work experience, 1st, 2nd or 3rd year apprentice electrician.
Lock Out /Tag Out, Fork Truck, Crane & Hoist. (Training Provided)
Basic computer skills, knowledge of Word & Excel a plus.
Vocational School or Apprentice electrician certificate or equivalent trade or continued education experience documentation.
First Responder, CPR / AED Training, Safety Committee representative experience desirable.
Possess the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. or team lift above 50 lbs.
Valid Driver License in good standing, issued by resident state required.
U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.
May be required to pass security clearance investigation.
