    The primary responsibility of the Applications Engineer is to perform the installation, repair, maintenance, and application level training to customers with analytical X-ray instrumentation. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to make timely and effective decisions.


    • Installation of all X-ray systems according to current installation procedures
    • Training of customers in usage of software and hardware on site or by remote access
    • Assisting in training Field Engineers both on site and in Madison
    • Perform customer specific calibrations when required.
    • Analyzes malfunctioning x-ray equipment and determines corrective action. Replaces faulty components and makes necessary adjustments and alignments.
    • Performs preventive maintenance according to written planned maintenance procedures.
    • Prepares and submits reports covering all job activities with accuracy and detail.
    • Between assignments keeps self available during normal working hours for immediate response for reassignment and telephone support.
    • Keeps in contact with assigned customers to ensure no unreported problems exist.
    • Promote and maintain service contracts and systems in assigned region.
    • Suggest methods for improvement of equipment performance and functionality.
    • Keep up-to-date on new product and product changes within his/her sphere of activity to increase own capabilities and skills.
    • Conduct all assignments according to service department and ISO procedures.
    • Perform other tasks as assigned by manager, or supervisor.

    • Specific job tasks must be performed safely and satisfactorily.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
    • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of individuals, both inside and outside the company, in a professional manner.
    • Performance of this position is critical to Bruker AXS Inc., including reporting to work every day as scheduled and making arrangements for necessary absences as far in advance as possible with the manager, or supervisor.




    Bachelors degree in physics, chemistry, geology, computer sciences, related sciences, or equivalent experience with the usage, or installation and repair of complex analytical systems. Graduate degree preferred.
