    This position ensures manufactured components and assembled products meet company standards and objectives during sub- and systems-level builds. The Test Engineer will develop and implement testing and evaluation methods for standard and special devices, create test plans based on production specifications and requirements, perform testing, and compile and analyze data for review and identification of manufacturing and production issues. The successful candidate will be responsible for the integration and qualification of complete and partial systems for various Bruker product lines; each system is assembled and tested to a specific customer order requiring timeliness of completion and accuracy of configuration.  This job includes the trouble-shooting and the correction of mechanical and electrical problems, and requires skill in these areas.  The position requires an ability to work productively individually or as part of a group.



    • Analyze results, evaluate systems-level functionality, and make corrections to meet system level and engineering performance requirements
    • Support and/or implementation of functional test methodology at the systems-level
    • Create and/or maintain test plans, develop and generate test reports with support teams.
    • Provide continuous improvement to the software validation process; sustain test automation at system-level testing and qualification.
    • Support engineering evaluation for products
    • Provide technical leadership and resolve instruments failures and production challenges
    • Make recommendations and execute solutions to improve product performance, quality and reliability
    • Provide meticulous test preparation, execution, reporting and thorough defect analysis
    • Provide technical leadership and resolve system level failures and production challenges
    • Monitor and analyze product performance and capability
    • Make recommendations and execute solutions to improve product performance, quality and reliability
    • Perform corrective actions based on test results
    • Complete customer orders per commitments
    • Support and/or lead quality improvement projects



    May include:

    • Participating in new product release teams
    • Conducting training on the testing and use of Bruker systems
    • Participating in improvement projects
    • Other duties as assigned



    • Knowledge of RS232, GPIB, LAN protocol
    • Knowledge in Data Analytics and SPC
    • Understanding of circuit schematics and strong fundamental of electronics
    • Knowledge in software development or life cycle and test methodology
    • Experience in handling equipment like Programmable Power Supplies, Oscilloscopes, Power Analyzers, Digital Multimeters, Pressure Gauges
    • Advanced ability to trouble shoot optical, mechanical, electrical, and system issues
    • Strong team player, with excellent collaboration, oral and written communication skills.
    • Interfacing with ME and R&D on software development, prototype builds and testing, with limited or no written instruction
    • Basic computer skills; Mechanical and Electrical troubleshooting skills; Technical aptitude
    • Basic mechanical abilities required. 
    • Must be able to lift ~50 lbs (~22kg).



    • Diploma/Degree in one or more of the following, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering with minimum 5 years of relevant industrial working experience
    • Working knowledge of instrument test and measurement methods
    • Typically requires 5+ years of related experience in a manufacturing testing environment.
