    Responsibilities

    SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The Production Manager has broad responsibility and leadership over the manufacturing of multiple product lines, including overseeing day-to-day activities to meet daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly requirements.  The Production Manager focuses the organization on aligning activities and resources towards creating and achieving shipment and revenue goals though partnering with functions that do not report to this position.

    The Production Manager is responsible for ensuring a safe work environment, driving quality improvements, providing premier customer service, developing a technically qualified work workforce, reducing operating costs, inventories and lead times through continuous improvements. Main responsibilities include:

    • Managing, motivating and developing staff in a manner that will facilitate high-performance in line with standards of leadership.
    • Instilling and maintaining a sense of urgency and customer focus within Manufacturing.
    • Prioritizing production in line with customer service requirements and revenue goals.
    • Driving continuous improvement of on-time shipments of systems, accessories and service parts.
    • Promoting a quality-focused culture.
    • Ensuring responsibilities under the quality system are met.
    • Increasing productivity of direct labor and overall staff on a quarter-to-quarter basis.
    • Efficiently managing variations in manufacturing demands.
    • Developing and maintaining an environment of continuous improvement.
    • Ensuring safety policies, procedures and programs are implemented throughout Manufacturing.
    • Actively participating and assisting in selection and recruitment of new employees.
    • Developing and maintaining a team-based approach within Manufacturing.
    • Ensuring results are maintained and displayed a timely basis.

    Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • A thorough understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes, assembly and production methods.
    • A thorough understanding of production planning, scheduling, purchasing, and inventory control.
    • Excellent knowledge of ERP systems, including MRP logic and transactions and be able to convert SAP data into useful information.
    • Ability to spot critical process issues quickly.

    EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in Engineering.
    • 8+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
    • Working knowledge of ERP systems (prefer SAP).
    • Excellent PC skills, especially Excel.
