The primary responsibility of a Lead Electro Mechanical Assembler is to assist Manufacturing management with the daily work assignments and priorities for the applicable AFM manufacturing team. The Lead position will also perform and monitor assembler training for new and existing Assembler positions.  The Lead will have demonstrated high-level skills in the build and test of precision electro-mechanical assemblies, reading and understanding assembly documentation, the ability to perform precision soldering, and the ability to use production tooling and test equipment. Calibration of electronics assemblies using DVM’s and O-scopes is also required. This position will also require the individual to effectively interface with R&D and M.E. to provide detailed feedback on product build and test issues, and aid in new product releases.




  • Ability to effectively coordinate work order assignments with planning, and assign work to others in the Production team based on priorities, staffing, and work load -10%
  • Ability to train others on required Electro Mechanical Assembly processes -5%
  • Build precision electro mechanical assemblies to print.-50%
  • Calibrate laser assemblies using various electronics test equipment. -10%
  • Quality improvement projects – 10%
  • Other product or process related projects – 15%




  • Effective organizational, communication, problem solving, and time management skills.
  • Request parts from stock utilizing appropriate methods
  • Ability to use SAP as needed to perform essential job functions
  • Follows and enforces established departmental policies and procedures, and relevant environmental, health and safety procedures.



  • Good eyesight
  • Exceptional hand dexterity for small parts assembly
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds from floor to hip height
  • Alert to the environment to avoid hazards in the work place

  • 2 to 3 years of college training preferred
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience building high level electro mechanical assemblies.
