    Bruker Daltonics has an opening for an Applications & Business Development Specialist in our Bangkok, Thailand office, responsible for Microbiology and Diagnostics business in South East Asia.


    The successful candidate shall champion the Bruker range of Microbiology and Diagnostics focused products through expert scientific & technical support of sales activities, demonstration, collaborative work, presentation and general business development activities. He or she creates an unrivalled reputation for the company through Training and Support of existing & new Microbiology and Diagnostics customers, and helps drive product commercialization, promotion and technical marketing activities.


    • Key is to meet the business plan objectives for new order bookings in the South East Asia region.
    • Responsible for FCPA and Export Compliance obligations.
    • Delivers high quality pre-sales demonstrations to potential customers on the Bruker range of  Microbiology and Diagnostics focused  products (e.g. MALDI Biotyper, IR Biotyper, etc)
    • Conducts high level presentation of the Microbiology and Diagnostics product and capability at conferences, symposiums, user meetings and to potential customers.
    • Prepares proposal and organization of user meetings and other scientific marketing exercises relative to Microbiology and Diagnostics markets.
    • Provides expert support of sales staff (Bruker & Distributors) on customer visits, either in person or via webex.
    • Provides regular technical & sales training on the Bruker Microbiology and Diagnostics solutions, competition & markets to sales staff (Bruker & Distributors) to ensure that the regional sales staff develop sound knowledge of all products within the sphere of responsibility.
    • Ensures that the sales staff (Bruker & Distributors) have all the right and up-to-date Microbiology and Diagnostics collateral to reach the goals.
    • Performs scientific work with prospective customers to generate interest, justification and relationship prior to sale.
    • Conducts demonstration of instrumentation and bioinformatics software.
    • Responsible for scientific assistance of customers, including site visits and telephone and webex support.
    • Provides support for the other application scientists and engineers.
    • Ensures continual awareness of developments in the field of Microbiology and Diagnostics including attendance and presentations at scientific conferences.
    • Develops key applications and collateral in Microbiology and Diagnostics markets.
    • Develops key Business Development Strategies to grow the Microbiology and Diagnostics Business in South East Asia. Monitors trends to improve market intelligence.
    • Creates and implements executable action plans to achieve the quarterly sales targets for Microbiology and Diagnostics markets.
    • Maintains contacts with key Microbiology and Diagnostics customers. 


    Education and/or Experience:                       

    • Bachelors (minimum) degree in an appropriate science subject (microbiology,  biology, analytical chemistry, etc.)
    • Considerable expertise and wide-understanding in Microbiology and Diagnostics markets in general.
    • Laboratory experience in either a clinical, applied or industrial microbiology laboratory is a plus.
    • Solid knowledge Business Development strategies.


    Computer Skills:                 

    • Essential to have experience with MS Office. It is desirable but not essential to have experience in Bruker software.


    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

    • Current valid driving license and passport.

    • A very high degree of scientific credibility and ability to discuss and persuade customers at a high level.
    • Passionate and dynamic, highly committed to deliverables and achievement of targets.
    • Self-motivation is essential as is a willingness to work with others toward a shared goal.

    • Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal, written). 
    • Capability & willingness to work in a matrix organization with direct & indirect reporting relationships
    • Strong analytical background and problem solving capabilities
    • Experience with and capable of interfacing with all levels of the organisation
    • Ability to articulate a clear vision and convey a sense of urgency
    • Ability and willingness to travel in the South East Asia region and to other countries as required for training and to provide support.
