Overview

The Head of PCI Applications Ettlingen operates the applications lab and the animal facility in Ettlingen, Germany and provides support to the Sales and Service functions. The Head of Applications is by nature strongly customer and market oriented and is expected to provide feedback on application trends and unmet customer needs on a regular basis in order to strengthen PCI market intelligence. The Head of Applications is assigned to and reports to the Market Product Management MRI and will by nature work in close collaboration with the Application Development teams (Software and Method Development).

 

The Head of Applications Ettlingen is based in Ettlingen, Germany, and will be heading an international, multi-disciplinary team of Application Scientists in Ettlingen. While not having a global responsibility, the Head of Applications Ettlingen is expected to foster exchange on application topics between the Application teams and Field Application Scientists worldwide, and reports the activities to the PCI management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team of Application Scientists in Ettlingen
  • Strengthen the team’s competence towards multimodal preclinical imaging expertise, including MRI, PET/MR, uCT, and MPI
  • Lead and operate the Applications Lab in Ettlingen
  • Lead and operate the animal facility in Ettlingen
  • Provide application support to Sales (pre- and post-sale) and the Service and Lifecycle Division (SLS), including 3rd level hotline support
  • Organize on-site and in-house customer application trainings and teaching, customer demos, site visits, and User Meetings
  • Lead application related customer collaborations or elements thereof
  • Represent the voice of customer and specify user requirements, applications, and use scenarios, for both existing and new products and accessories
  • In close interaction with hardware and application development and integration teams, validate new applications, animal equipment, and software
  • Develop application optimized measurement protocols and workflows
  • Create application relevant product (user) documentation
  • Support Product Marketing with application oriented Marketing and Sales materials
  • Organize global Application meetings on a regular basis
  • Collect and report global Application information and report to PCI management on a regular basis

Qualifications

  • Master or Ph.D. degree in a life-science discipline (biology, physics, chemistry)
  • Minimum three years of professional experience in preclinical imaging methodologies and fields of applications, preferably in MRI
  • Experience with direct animal experimentation (Felasa C or equivalent)
  • Ability for world-wide travel up to 25%
  • Excellent understanding of preclinical imaging applications, methodologies and technologies
  • Strong customer centricity and customer value thinking
  • Leadership skills
  • Good project and cooperation/collaboration management skills
  • Good knowledge in SAP and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Excellent English and good German language skills
