Sales Application and customer service support Engineer position will be responsible for high level pre- and post-sales application support and service of Bruker Nano Surface’s Fluorescent Microscopy (FM) business unit products in NA/APAC region, specifically super resolution, multiphoton and multipoint scanning fluorescent confocal microscopy systems and accessories.  Job duties primarily include discovering prospects application needs, positioning/selling our unique features, ability to install/demonstrate our products and advantages, provide advanced application training, attend conferences with speaking roles and team with direct sales personnel to drive and win business, support and service on systems. Other duties may be assigned.




  • Providing Applications Support for selling our Bruker FMBU products
  • Have hands-on experience and knowledge about at least two of the three techniques: super resolution, multiphoton microscopy and fluorescent confocal microscopy
  • Product demonstrations – able to set-up and demo our products
  • Executing samples measurement to technical advance an opportunity
  • Selling our USPs;
  • Installation and customer training on Bruker FMBU products
  • Providing advanced technical support for the Bruker sales team in customer visits
  • Providing advanced training for customers
  • Providing after sales technical support including servicing of the systems.
  • Attending conferences and exhibitions with talks. Operating Super-Resolution, multi-photon and confocal microscopes at conference/exhibition booths
  • Leading technical aspects of Bruker workshops and providing advanced training    
  • Presenting at academic & industrial conferences
  • Sharing best practice regarding instrument operation within Bruker global applications team
  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • Understands the needs of life science customers.
  • Capable in selling advanced technology instrumentation.
  • Have hands-on experience and knowledge about at least two of the three techniques: super resolution, multiphoton microscopy and fluorescent confocal microscopy
  • Good communicator and experience consultative selling skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills with MS office proficiency.
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Energetic self-starter with a strong work ethic.
  • Able to travel both domestically and internationally on short notice.
  • Has sold microscopy products in various NA?APAC countries (e.g. North America, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Korea, Australia, India etc.)  

Education and/or Experience:                        

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ experience, Master’s degree with 3 years’ experience or a PhD without experience.  Degree should be in a Life Science Discipline.  PhD preferred.
  • Experience with using either Multi-Photon, confocal and super resolution microscopes (mandatory)
  • Experience in design and assembly and alignment of either Multi-photon, confocal or super resolution microscopes (mandatory)
  • Peer reviewed publications using either multi-photon, Confocal or Super-Resolution microscopes (mandatory) are a plus
  • Current valid driving license (mandatory)
  • Fluent in English (mandatory)


Computer Skills:                                

  • Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint        

Other Qualifications:                                      

  • Fluent in English and Chinese



The position reports to the Bruker Nano Surfaces Sales Manager, North America



The preferred location for the position is the Houston area.  Other North American major metropolitan areas will be considered. Travel in North America regions will account for 50% of the time and periodic international trips to assist our APAC region.
