This position provides participation in the sales process of XRF product line through demonstrations, applications development, report writing, attending and presenting at trade shows, conferences is required. After sales technical support is also part of this position including training at customer sites.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Other duties may be assigned.


  • Assist Product Manager – XRF with sales by performing instrument demonstrations (in-house and on-site), writing analysis reports performed on customer samples and accompanying field sales on sales calls to provide technical support.


  • Attend scientific conferences, trade shows, seminars, and workshops to provide technical information, instrument and application presentations, scientific papers and posters in support of the XRF product line.


  • Conduct after-sales application training for XRF products to customers, in-house or at customer site, including the creation and maintenance of training media to support this training.


  • Maintain the XRF demo inventory by regularly servicing and upgrading instruments


  • Perform other tasks as assigned by Product Manager.




To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.



Bachelor of Science in physics, material science or other applied discipline.

Master’s degree or higher preferred.



Related experience preferred

Ability to travel up to 60% domestically and internationally




Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak with customers and employees of the organization.                             


Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


Ability to work independently with little or no supervision once fully trained; job tasks must be performed safely and satisfactorily; ability to handle multiple tasks effectively; ability to interact and communicate with all levels of individuals, both inside and outside the company, in a professional manner.


To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications, including spreadsheet and word processing software. Able to effectively navigate through the Internet and the Intranet is desirable, but not required (will train).


Must be organized, able to prioritize work, and meet deadlines. Able to accurately enter information into the computer database system and follow established department procedures. Familiarity with and able to operate various office equipment including copy machines and fax machines.
