Responsibilities

New opportunity based in Madison, WI for an Accountant to provide AXS business support.  Primary responsibilities include the monthly preparation and analysis of multiple financial reports, including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Aftermarket Review, and other financial metrics.  The position is responsible for creating and maintaining the financial forecast and tracking revenue and revenue deferrals on a weekly basis and reporting this to our German office. Will be actively involved with the annual budget process, quarterly audit process, and the reconciliation of various G/L Accounts.    Reporting and analysis is achieved through the use of SAP, BPC and Excel.   Will also compute sales commissions for approximately 20 employees and work directly with Corporate Accounting on monthly submission requirements in the BPC consolidation tool.

 

Reporting:  Prepare internal monthly reports.  Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual exhibits for Group Controlling and Corporate, includes financial statements, recovery analysis, internal headcount, quarterly cost report to management, quarterly and annual exhibits, monthly revenue flash, monthly product revenue, monthly updates to the quarterly forecast, aftermarket warranty and installation costs, financial metrics, ship/ not installed aging reports, sales by product line, quarterly sales list, monthly headcount exhibit, BPC headcount.

 

Revenue/ Forecast: Update weekly forecast file with new bookings and actual revenue. Attend weekly revenue/shipping meeting.  Reconcile revenue monthly down to the product level.  Provide auditors with detail revenue lists for financial and SOX audits. Book manual revenue deferrals and track terms on customer orders.

 

Commissions: Calculate commissions for internal sales force on a monthly basis and for application scientists on a quarterly basis.

 

SAP Account Structure Maintenance:  Update cost centers, GL account numbers, cost center groups, financial statement layout, and cost element group structure.

 

Reconciliations: Reconcile various GL accounts on a monthly or quarterly basis.

 

Miscellaneous:  Prepare budget files for AVP, enter budget into SAP annually, set up assessments/ distributions in SAP and run each month for monthly close.  Follow up on Quarter and Annual external audit requests as well as annual SOX internal audit requirements.

 

Travel Vouchers: book airfare for customer demos, recruiting visits, and various other people as needed using travel vouchers.

 

Special Projects:  Assist AVP with special projects and ad-hoc reports as necessary.

 

Assist Corporate/ Group Controlling: Assist when asked on consolidation activities.

 

Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Minimum 3 years’ work experience as an Accountant within a commercial product or industrial work environment.
  • Current knowledge of US GAAP accounting requirements. 
  • Strong business analysis, financial planning and reporting skills with ability to generate business insights that add measurable value. Knowledge of current trends in finance and functional best-practices related to position responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive work relationships at all levels across the company.
  • Operates at the highest standards of business ethics, honesty, and personal integrity.
  • Excellent verbal, written, computer, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills with SAP:  FI, CO and BPC experience, Financial Report Preparation, Microsoft Office with advanced Excel capability.
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines for the function and requirement as a public company.
