Bruker Daltonics is seeking an experienced Applications Scientist whose main focus will be to provide support to existing FTMS customers who are involved in workflows associated with FTMS Mass Spectrometry Imaging. Candidate is required to provide rapid response onsite customer support to existing FTMS imaging customers.  Be able to run imaging samples, and provide customer demonstrations at the Bruker facility.  

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive onsite applications support to customers involved in Mass Spectrometry Imaging (MSI) workflows
  • Conduct onsite support with rapid response times in less than 48 hours for MSI customers
  • Assist in the installation of new FTMS systems by providing onsite customer training and application specific system testing.
  • Train new and existing customers and give the best possible customer support via telephone and WebEx.
  • Perform analyses of samples submitted by prospective customers.
  • Assist in technical sales support by preparing and conducting demonstrations to prospective customers.
  • Author technical documents that highlight new and innovative application results using Bruker’s FTMS systems.
  • Develop new applications for the FTMS product line to be used for posters and presentations at technical conferences and marketing seminars

Qualifications

Master’s degree required, Ph.D. preferred – in the analytical or biological sciences – or equivalent experience.

 

3-5 years’ FTMS experience preferred.

 

Computer Skills:                                             

MS Office working knowledge required.

Experience with all Bruker software products desirable.

 

Other Skills and Abilities:                                           

Strong presentation skills.

Excellent verbal and written communications skills needed with a wide variety of knowledge levels with customers and in-house personnel.

Willingness and ability to travel as domestic travel in excess of 50% is required and international travel may be required.

 

Other Qualifications:      

Demonstrated experience in sample preparation methodologies for ESI, APCI, and MALDI, and LC/MS to include nanoflow LC/MS.
