Bruker Optics is seeking a Sales Representative for our NIR and Process team who will focus on sales of Bruker FT-NIR for Dairy applications in the US. The US Dairy market represents a significant growth opportunity for Bruker, and will be a high-visibility position within our global NIR and Process Team. The successful candidate will participate in strategy development and have direct sales responsibility for our high value, highly differentiated FT-NIR systems for laboratory and in-line analysis in the Dairy industry.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Providing timely follow-up to prospects and customers in the US dairy industry.
  • Cold calling and industry sector business development
  • Provide technical support, pre-sale support, and manage post-sales activities to support the efforts of the Sales Director.
  • Responsible for revenue growth through sale of Bruker NIR, installation follow up, and field support for Bruker’s customers in the Dairy industry.
  • Perform customer and sales opportunity maintenance in an SAP customer relationship management (CRM) system,
  • Travel as necessary within the territory for sales and support functions to achieve territory sales goals.
  • Travel outside the territory, as directed by the Regional Sales Manager or the Vice President of Sales, for sales meetings and training.
  • Work with the Sales Director to write a territory market segment sales account plan before the beginning of each calendar year.
  • Assist in the development of technical seminars, Lunch and Learns, customer product presentations and participate in local, regional and national trade shows as assigned.


  • B.Sc. in chemistry/biochemistry/food/dairy science or equivalent degree.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in the dairy industry in a laboratory or operations role. Experience in sales or support of commercially available spectroscopic dairy analyzers is a definite advantage.
  • Extensive knowledge of laboratory testing methods for milk, cheese, and other dairy products including spectroscopic methods of analysis
  • Excellent communications skills needed to work with a wide variety of knowledge levels with customers of differing backgrounds, and within the Bruker Optics (e.g. management, service applications).  
  • Must have & be able to maintain valid domestic and international travel documentation.

    If located outside of a Bruker office, the ability to maintain a home office with Phone and Internet is essential.
