SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must be able to read and understand detailed manufacturing standard operating procedures required to perform the set-up, operation and test of optical metrology equipment (interferometers). Use of hand held test equipment is required to include voltmeters and other specialized test equipment as required. Must be able to set up and test final systems within defined time standards and with a high level of quality. Completed systems must comply with approved performance specifications.
Must be able to work on your own with little supervision. Must be able to load system software, set up all system components and perform required test procedures. Must take ownership of the systems being tested to include identifying parts that do not align/fit correctly, have cosmetic defects, identifying procedure errors, identifying test equipment that is damaged or does not work correctly and completing required tracking/build documentation in accordance with approved methods. Must be able to make recommendations for solutions to technical problems.
Must be able to communicate effectively and train other personnel within the department in the comprehensive assembly & test of the final system. Must be able to work on assignments that require considerable initiative and good judgment. Must be able to both control and account for inventory that has been issued to the required system work orders to include point of use inventory on the production floor. Must be able to complete all other duties as assigned that are within the job responsibility.
Must possess visual acuity necessary to read very detailed drawings and work with very small mechanical parts. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. individually and lift 50 lbs. in a two person lift. Some overtime will be required. Some international travel will be required for training on system build and test.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Must possess a working knowledge of Windows, Office, and be able to operate computers and computer programs necessary to perform system test against performance specifications. Must be able to determine best methods and assist in the development of procedures for products that you are involved with.
A minimum of successful completion of a 2 year electronic technician course of study resulting in a degree and a minimum of 2 years of related production test and debug experience in a manufacturing environment are required.
