Responsibilities

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Under the direction of the Director of Supply Chain Management this position is responsible for the sourcing of direct and indirect materials. The position scope includes but not limited to research, selecting, establishing, developing, and managing suppliers, as well as contract negotiations, cost reduction, sourcing new technologies, and resolving quality and technical issues with suppliers. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Sourcing new suppliers (resourcing and outsourcing), managing suppliers, and initiating cost savings for wide range of commodities, included but not limited to mechanical, electronics, electrical, and electro-mechanical assemblies, optics, equipment, sheet metal, and machined parts, electronics, electrical, and mechanical components.
  • Developing new sources of supply in LCC regions and execution of supplier management policies and processes that ensure lowest possible cost, while meeting delivery, quality, and service requirements.
  • Cost modeling (e.g. total cost of ownership; make vs. buy analysis).
  • Negotiating cost reduction.
  • Creating, negotiating, and establishing suppliers’ agreements.
  • Initiating and conducting suppliers risk analysis
  • Working with Mfg. and Design Engineers in sourcing, selecting, and establishing new suppliers as well as resolving technical related issues and tasks.
  • Selecting, developing, and managing reliable sources of secondary suppliers to promote appropriate competition and insure continued availability of on-time materials.
  • Creating various reports, including but not limited to suppliers’ performance (delivery and quality), KPI, and cost saving
  • Materials planning.
  • Working with the Procurement Manager in inventory reduction and initiating, and establishing with suppliers VMI program.
  • Lead suppliers’ quality and manufacturing teams to drive timely and comprehensive resolutions to vendor quality and technical issues,
  • Lead Bruker’s and the Supplier’s engineers in design and manufacturing changes in order to reduce materials cost (value engineering) and improve delivery and quality.
  • Sourcing suppliers to meet new technologies requirements.
  • Placing POs and/or POs management.
  • Coordinating and supporting on-site supplier visits, assessments, auditing, and continuous improvement opportunities to optimize total cost and address issues with supplier performance.
  • Generating various analysis and reports using SAP database and import them to Excel.
  • As necessary, guide or manage buyers, and assist the Procurement Manager in materials planning, buying, communications and resolving issues with suppliers, and running SAP reports.
  • Periodical analysis of economic factors, industry and market trends with recommendation that need to be taken in order to establish and maintain a favorable position
  • All other duties as assigned

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Anticipate, recognize and solve complex supply problems
    • Good communications skills.
    • Comfortable working with semi-complex computer-based ERP systems like SAP
    • Strong Technical knowledge
    • Negotiation skills
    • Proficient in MS Office, in particular Excel.
    • Capable of traveling up to 30%

Qualifications

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred in Engineering, or Science)
  • 10-12 years of experience in manufacturing including 8 years in purchasing or supply chain
  • Experience in buying and sourcing of electronic and mechanical products and related commodities.

Relocation may  be available for highly qualified candidates.
