We are seeking an experienced GL Specialist  (m/f/d) to join our dynamic finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to contribute significantly to our financial operations and reporting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute end-to-end General Ledger operational processes
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis
  • Prepare SOX Controls
  • Handle fixed assets accounting processes
  • Prepare VAT declarations in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of General Ledger master data
  • Prepare financial reports and support statutory and management reporting
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audit processes
  • Support standardization and optimization of accounting processes
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support financial decision-making
  • Assist Team Lead and participate in ad-hoc and improvement projects
  • Proactively identify and resolve day-to-day accounting issues
  • Coordinate and oversee end-to-end GL activities for the assigned entities, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
  • Provide guidance, support, and knowledge transfer to team members, including onboarding new joiners, sharing best practices, issue resolution
  • Act as a key point of contact and ensure consistent process execution for supporting entity.
  • Perform other duties as required. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of General Ledger experience required (former experience with US GAAP is an advantage) 
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance (ACCA / SKWP certification is an advantage)
  • Very good command of English (minimum B2 level); German is a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP / S4HANA ERP system
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong MS Office proficiency
  • Demonstrated ability to work on and own initiatives
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
  • Strong organizational skills and adaptability to change
  • Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and risk
  • Strong decision-making skills and ability to escalate issues appropriately
  • Operates with a high standard of ethics, integrity, and professionalism.
