Responsibilities

Bruker Spatial Biology is seeking a highly motivated Senior Computational Biologist to join our Technical Support team within Customer Experience. In this role, you will provide advanced data analysis support for the GeoMx® Digital Spatial Profiler, CosMx™ Spatial Molecular Imager, and future spatial biology platforms. You will be responsible for resolving customer inquiries, enabling users with advanced resources and tools, and delivering training for both internal teams and external customers. Partnering closely with Commercial and R&D teams, you will help drive successful outcomes by addressing unique customer data analysis challenges with speed, precision, and scientific insight.


Essential Responsibilities:

 

  • Act as a subject matter expert for data analysis pipelines, workflows, and tools supporting Bruker’s spatial biology platforms.
  • Address technical inquiries and data quality issues from customers across transcriptomics and proteomics workflows.
  • Design, implement, and support analytical workflows for customer spatial ‘omics datasets.
  • Provide expert-level education and troubleshooting for internal and external users.
  • Interpret and contextualize results, linking findings to biological questions and study goals.
  • Communicate results effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences; engage in scientific discussions with customers and collaborators.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with research scientists, software developers, statisticians, and customer-facing teams to resolve customer challenges.
  • Stay current with emerging tools, packages, and publications in spatial omics data analysis

Qualifications

This role requires a background in biological interpretation of high-plex molecular data, skills in computation, algorithm development or application, and a history of engagement within the scientific community. The ideal candidate will be customer facing with a commitment to supporting a community of researchers within and outside of Bruker Spatial Biology.

 

  • Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Genomics, or related field with 3+ years of industry or postdoctoral experience; or M.S. with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong experience analyzing high-dimensional ‘omics datasets (e.g., transcriptomics, proteomics) using established bioinformatics and statistical methods.
  • Proficiency in R; additional scripting languages (Python, etc.) preferred.
  • Domain knowledge in a relevant biological area (oncology, immunology, etc.) required; advanced expertise preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate scientific findings to expert and non-expert audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple inquiries and complaints.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, both analytical and creative.
  • Customer-focused mindset with excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
