Overview

At Bruker we’re building cutting-edge solutions around mass spectrometry and identification of bacteria that power the future of microbiology and infectious disease diagnostics. We believe in artificial intelligence, automation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

If you're passionate about research and development, electronics and love working with modern tech stacks, we want to hear from you!

Bruker s.r.o., a daughter company of Bruker Daltonics GmbH & Co. KG a globally acknowledged leader in mass spectrometry instrumentation and other scientific instruments, is looking for an Electronic Engineer for Research and Development department in Brno, Czechia. We offer the half-time employment relationship (Dohoda o Pracovní Činnosti) and date of commencement of employment as soon as possible (by agreement).

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do?

  • As an Electronic Developer, you will be an integral part of a team focused on developing modern automation technologies. Due to the nature of the work, which involves direct interaction with physical devices, this position is not remote and requires on-site presence to interact with colleagues and devices.
  • It is important to note that once the project infrastructure is established, the running project must adhere to corporate guidelines, ISO/IEC standards, and EU/US directives and regulations (FDA/IVD-R, EMC, LVD, MD, etc.) governing development and documentation practices. These standards are a fundamental part of our daily operations. Ultimately, we are developing medical devices, which are subject to strict regulatory requirements, and maintaining compliance is a critical aspect of our work.
  • Focus on:
  • Design and development of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) using Eagle and Altium Designer, including component selection, bill of materials (BOM) creation, block diagram development, and related technical documentation creation and maintenance.
  • Design of cables and cable harnesses, including preparation and support of technical drawings and documentation.
  • Maintenance and improvement of component libraries, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and up-to-date information across design tools.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For?

  • Bachelor or Master student in Electrical engineering, or corresponding qualification in Electronics, Mechatronic, Informatics, Mathematics, or Physics.
  • Friendly and communicative person with English and Czech on professional level. You need to be very communicative, and independent, as well as a team player.
  • Knowledge of various microcontroller architectures such as ARM Cortex-M (AVR, ESP32, STM32, and RISC-V) is a strong plus.

What is Advantage?

  • Candidates with experience in firmware development for embedded systems(C/C++) will have a significant edge.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based systems, especially Yocto Project for custom distributions, is highly valued.
  • This role offers the opportunity to work across the full stack—from hardware design to low-level software—making it ideal for students eager to bridge the gap between electronics and embedded programming.

What Do We Offer?

  • Friendly, inclusive, and innovative team culture
  • Competitive salary and performance bonuses
  • Flexible working hours and remote work options (after successful onboarding)
  • Professional development budget and certifications
  • Opportunity to work on impactful projects with modern technologies
