Bruker Nano Surfaces & Metrology “BNSM” division is the leader in X-ray metrology / inspection and other tools for the silicon and compound semiconductor industries. We have an immediate opening for a Production Engineer, UK, at the Durham sit in our Operation department

Ideal candidate should enjoy a dynamic and fast-pace business environment and have strong communication skills.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility on all Manufacturing aspects in the companies PLC Process starting from the product development phase, prototype builds, production introduction through until end of life including:
  • BOM Structures; definition and maintenance based on manufacturing steps, customer options and customisations
  • Define and create production documentation required for build, test, integration, and product calibration.
  • Initiate, Develop, implement, and maintain production procedures, workflow processes, tools & jigs for effective manufacturing of sub-assemblies, product integration & final tests. 
  • Manage obsolescence events and support 2nd source initiatives.
  • Create and manage Engineering changes, defining changes and presenting them to stakeholders and carrying our BOM and technical drawing and document updates.

Under your role you will be required to:

  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Determine problem resolutions and implement improvements.
  • Working closely with the quality department, handling technical aspects of quality issues internally and with vendors.
  • Develop and sustain process improvements and quality control systems to reduce production & BOM costs and increase yields.
  • Provide support for outsourcing projects

Qualifications

Essential

  • At least five years as a Manufacturing/Production Engineer
  • HNC or higher in an engineering discipline
  • IOSH/NEBOSH and/or be able to demonstrate through previous experience a positive attitude towards safety.
  • Experienced in using Microsoft office products such as Outlook, Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • Experience in technical writing
  • Ability to read technical drawings

Preferred

  • Experience using SAP
  • Use of CAD packages such as Creo, Solid Edge or similar
  • Experience in Semiconductors equipment companies
  • Knowledge of APQP and PPAP
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Techniques
  • Experience of using Monday.com, Microsoft planner or similar task management software
