The Mechatronics Intern will support our R&D team in designing, testing, and optimizing mechanical-electrical systems used in material analysis instruments.

This role provides hands-on experience in schematic and cable design, and mechanical design, making it ideal for students pursuing careers in mechatronics engineering. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and prototyping of electronic circuits, PCB layouts and mechanical module for instrumentation systems.
  • Create and modify cable and schematic drawings using E3 design software.
  • Assist in mechanical design, prototyping and modifications using SolidWorks CAD software.
  • Conduct tests and measurements on electronic assemblies and assist R&D engineers in troubleshooting as required.
  • Support R&D engineers in data collection, analysis, and reporting on test results for ongoing development projects.
  • Aid in documentation, including test procedures, circuit diagrams, and technical reports.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program (Year 3 / Year 4) in Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Preferably internship duration at least 6 months or 24 weeks.
  • Familiarity with electronics design tools, Altium Designer, OrCAD, is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of PCB design and layout principles.
  • Experience with E3 schematic and cable drawing software is a plus.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills.
