Bruker Nano Surfaces & Metrology “BNSM” division is the leader in X-ray metrology / inspection and other tools for the silicon and compound semiconductor industries. We are seeking a Purchasing Supervisor to join our dynamic team. The Supervisor will play a central role in driving all procurement aspects of R&D and engineering projects, while also serving as a senior professional authority within the purchasing function in Israel.

The Supervisor will also function as a Buyer with its own workload, focused on standard procurement work, issuing PO’s and tracking deliveries This role involves leading strategic supplier relationships, guiding procurement best practices, and collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and global partners. The strategic procurement lead will work alongside the head of the purchasing department to implement sourcing strategies, support team activities, and ensure procurement excellence across complex and innovation-driven initiatives. The Supervisor will also function as a Buyer, focused on standard procurement work, issuing PO’s and tracking deliveries. 

 

Responsibilities

Procurement leadership

  • Serve as the professional lead for procurement activities related to R&D and engineering projects
  • Ensure early involvement in project planning to align procurement timelines, budgets, and specifications with development goals
  • Act as a key partner to R&D, engineering, and project teams to understand technical requirements and translate them into actionable sourcing strategies

Cross-functional and team collaboration

  • Support and guide procurement team members in executing purchasing strategies and resolving challenges in their daily work
  • Supervises daily buying activities, ensures PO execution, and addresses transactional issues affecting material availability and production timelines.
  • Help prioritize and structure procurement activities to meet business needs across multiple functions
  • Promote procurement best practices, standardization, and continuous improvement within the team
  • Actively contribute to the development of processes, tools, and templates that elevate the department’s efficiency and professionalism
  • First Buyer support, PR/PO aging management, issue resolution, SOP enforcement, and first-level stakeholder support

Strategic supplier management

  • Build and manage strong relationships with key strategic suppliers, particularly in support of R&D and high-technology projects
  • Lead supplier performance reviews, drive corrective actions, and support the evaluation and onboarding of new vendors
  • Work closely with suppliers to negotiate terms, improve value, and foster innovation partnerships
  • Monitor market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings, risk mitigation, and supplier diversification

Data analysis and continuous improvement

  • Analyse procurement performance metrics to identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement
  • Lead initiatives to reduce costs, improve lead times, and enhance supplier performance
  • Contribute to the development of dashboards and reporting tools to track procurement KPIs

Buyer responsibilities

  • Executes tactical purchasing and planning activities for specific sites or global demand
  • Balances supply and demand
  • Ensures timely material delivery
  • Handle MRP issues
  • Daily PO management

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in technology, engineering, or multidisciplinary equipment production environments
  • Previous experience in direct team management – an advantage
  • Managerial & leadership skills
  • Strong background in supporting or leading procurement for R&D/engineering-driven projects
  • Experience in strategic supplier management and contract negotiation
  • Knowledge of global sourcing, logistics, and import/export processes
  • High-level interpersonal and collaboration skills across disciplines and cultures
  • Excellent analytical, planning, and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); ERP experience (SAP/Priority) is an advantage
  • High level of English proficiency – mandatory
