We are looking for a Product Certification Engineer (m/f/d) for our location in Ettlingen.

Responsibilities

  • Setup and management of certification projects
  • Consulting with the Technical Product Management regarding certification and product conformity scopes and strategy and support of certification tasks
  • Close cooperation with Regulatory Affairs department that monitors the regulatory landscape
  • Selection and management of certification partners in alignment with purchase and operations department
  • Close cooperation with PLM projects; actively include certification and activities of conformity aspects in product design.
  • Execution of certification projects:
    • Review of Documentation, BOM, Risk Analysis
    • Support for establishment of critical component lists
    • Definition of regulatory aspects for product requirements and specification
    • Orchestrate cooperation with certification partners including negotiations regarding certification scope
  • Hand-over of relevant tasks derived from certification to other parts of the organization (SCM, Quality, Production, Audits/Inspections)
  • Support of factory inspections
  • Maintenance/Product Update/Renewal/Product Health Reviews: update of certifications and conformity in collaboration with CM’s and TPM’s

Qualifications

  • Engineering Background: Candidates should have a strong foundation in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Educational Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 6 years of experience in product certification for laboratory equipment or scientific instruments is essential.
  • Languages: German (fluent knowledge) and English (min. C1-Level)
  • Regulatory and Standards Knowledge: Extensive know-how of regulatory standards is crucial for this role.
  • Certification Bodies: Experience in working with certification bodies is necessary.
