Overview

As Head of Operation - Cubes, you’ll be responsible for the production and quality control  of CUBES, the modular benchtop nuclear imaging product line of Bruker. This entails managing the entire process, from purchasing raw materials to overseeing internal and external production planning and execution, ensuring on time and in full delivery to the end customer. You play a central role in the company’s day-to-day operations with a close interface to all functions like R&D, sales, product management and applications.The position is located in our Ghent office.

The Head of Operations - Cubes will be a member of the CUBES team, ~20 people located in Ghent and which is part of the Molecular Imaging Business of Bruker’s PreClinical Imaging division. We are pushing the field of preclinical research to new horizons and contributing to cures for diseases such as cancer and Alzheimer's by building nuclear molecular preclinical imagers, the CUBES, allowing researchers to perform high-quality SPECT/CT and PET/CT studies without complex system handling and with very limited lab space requirements.

As Head of Operations - Cubes, you contribute to the company's success by ensuring that the production of the CUBES is well-organized through close collaboration with internal teams in Ghent and within Bruker, managing the relation and communication with our external partners and suppliers for production and product changes. You will be the Operation’s go-to person for internal processes relating to Cubes, like product life cycle management, manufacturing engineering and any topics relating to the internal ERP system for Cubes.     

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for production and production planning: aligning demand of sales and service with external manufacturing and internal production capabilities while maintaining high quality standards
  • Responsible for the organization and execution of the integration of components, quality control / factory testing for on-time in full delivery to our customers in a small team, including the definition and measure of relevant KPIs
  • Responsible for product changes and new product introduction, within the PLM process and towards suppliers: ensuring newly developed products and enhancements are implemented on the production floor and that product design fulfills production requirements
  • Responsible for purchasing of critical parts, negotiating pricing with key suppliers
  • Inventory management
  • Quality assurance: responsible for quarterly external audits regarding product quality and safety, responsible use of isotopes during calibration
  • Maintenance and changes of the ERP relating to Cubes

Qualifications

  • Master degree - industrial engineering/electromechanics/electronics/....
  • Experience in production of low volume / high quality products with external partners
  • Good knowledge of ERP system, ideally using SAP Business-One and/or S4Hana
  • Good understanding of operational, manufacturing and quality processes
  • Hand-on mentality & skills, and knowledge of mechanics and/or electronics is a plus
  • You speak English as well as Dutch
