We are looking for an experienced legal counsel with a strong background in technology and privacy-related matters to support our B2B business in EMEA for a period of approx. 8 months as a substitute for a team member on parental leave. Start date 01.06.2024

Responsibilities

As a trusted advisor with an independent and solution-oriented working style, you will:

  • work closely with senior leadership and various business departments in an international setting
  • review and negotiate terms and conditions for sales (including tenders) as well as for procurement transactions on hardware & software products
  • review, draft and negotiate contracts, in particular for
    • scientific research projects (collaborations and contract research)
    • product development projects (e.g. contract development services, beta testing)
    • IT services
    • consulting services
  • provide legal support to strategic projects (e.g. introduction of new IT applications, service outsourcing, M&A PMI integration, webshop business) and new business models (e.g. marketplace platform for analytical services, partnerships for services in the well-being sector)
  • support privacy compliance initiatives, including process implementation and the drafting of required documents, and take the lead for privacy-related processes (e.g. data breaches)
  • support with legal advice in relation to employment and works council matters
  • give advice to business colleagues on various legal questions
  • perform research on new regulations and their business impact for our company
  • develop contract templates and standardized approaches for recurring business needs
  • support internal investigations by the Legal & Compliance departments
  • consult and manage the relationship with external law firms and Data Protection Officers
  • report to the General Counsel BBIO & Bruker’s Chief Privacy Officer

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified German lawyer with 5+ years of work experience in a law firm or multinational company
  • Fluency in German and English
  • Good communication skills and team player mindset
  • Proactive hands-on approach
