The successful candidate will be responsible to install, service, mantain, repair and eventually dismiss analytical intstruments at customer labs. He will be focus on NMR instruments, which are composed by cryo refrigerated magnets, electronics, data gathering and elaboration unit. His area of competence will by Italy and Adriatics countries, and will be occasionally required to service in other countries in Europe and worldwide. The canditate will travel about 70% of his time, and will home office based otherwise

 

The position is home office based, preferably around Trieste or Venice. Good travel connections, as well for international travel will be important.

Responsibilities

  • Familiarization with specific instrumentation prior to installation from issued documentation and/or participation in the final testing process in the factory
  • Liaise with customers and colleagues in the site planning process prior to installation
  • Inspect, install, set up, test and achieve specifications of systems and accessories at customers’ sites, and deliver basic operator training
  • Carry out breakdown and planned maintenance at customers’ sites
  • Provide technical, software and application related support and assistance to customers and to colleagues, either directly or by remote diagnosis
  • Carry out procedures necessary to validate systems to certifiable standards
  • Provide technical input to the sales team in non-routine sales cases
  • Frequent travel within Italy is an essential part of the job. Significant travel to customer sites abroad is also expected, especially within Europe.

Qualifications

  • The candidate should have a university degree in scientific subject, physics or chemistry is a plus.
  • a qualification in Physics or Chemistry or similar level of knowledge and skill gained by practical experience in NMR field.
  • a solid technical or scientific background gained in industry or academia
  • a current driving license valid in Italy
  • no visa restriction preventing travel in the USA or EU.

The candidate should have knowledge of Windows and Linux operating system, and skills for electronics. The candidate should love travelling and have initiative and taste for challanges
