Responsibilities

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand and develop manufacturing processes along with enterprise resource planning (ERP) system - SAP S/4 Hana platform
  • Follow company policies and processes
  • Initiate and support continuous improvement activities
  • Document and improve your processes
  • Work with cross-functional NPI teams for New Product Development from Conceptual phase through Proof of Manufacturing, Volume Production, and End of Life phases.
  • Practice and promote (DFx) guidelines, Design for Manufacturing, Assembly, Test, Reliability, and Service.
  • Provide feedback to design engineers during design reviews using DFx principles, best practices, and lessons learned from previous projects.
  • Lead process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (pFMEA) activities
  • Contribute to design Failure Mode Effect Analysis (dFMEA) activities
  • Leads and transitions subsequent in- sourcing strategies if required into Operations and works closely with Product Development, Manufacturing Operations, Manufacturing Engineer for sustaining products along with Product Development and Operations internal customers to:
  • Provide sustaining engineering expertise and project management of in-sourcing strategies, including sustaining production requirements, quality improvement, and project management such as product transition, cost reduction, inventory reduction, and or sourcing change.
  • Execution of manufacturing quality improvement strategy through final functional verification process (Final Test), managing non-conforming parts in process (NCMR), and closed loop corrective action (CLCR)
  • Development of Manufacturing Documentation, Tooling, and Test Fixtures for both contract manufacturing and
  • Identify and execute on opportunities for Gross Margin improvements through Risk and Mitigation plans per PLC and sourcing strategies.
  • Lead projects related to Best Cost Manufacturing and aligned with business Examples may include Insourcing, Outsourcing, and/or Cost Reductions - Value Engineering.
  • Lead product ownership from Proof of Manufacturing through
  • BOM Maintenance, Engineering Changes, Design Improvements, Lean Manufacturing, DMAIC, DFMA and DFx on NPI

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • User level experience with SAP a must (SAP S/4 Hana preferred) (example modules: Material Master, BOMs, Routings, Documents).
  • Min 3 years’ current experience using cad design systems (Solid Edge preferred).
  • Project management experience.
  • Good engineering analytical skills in order to design and build tooling and fixtures for mechanical or electrical/electronic models.
  • Good organization skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with NPI process as direct contributor and project manager is preferred.
  • Experience with DFx, DFMEA, and PFMEA
  • Experience in creating and maintaining BOM
  • Experience in of writing ECOs (Engineering Change Orders).
  • Experience in mechanical part & assembly design and making changes to existing design in 3D
  • Experience in creating and editing production work instructions and
  • Experience in troubleshooting complex electromechanical
  • Work independently, strong team player, detail oriented, organized, and hands-
  • Effective time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Above average fluency with Microsoft Office products
  • International travel (may be required ~4wks per Actual travel duration and frequency will depend on project requirements.)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Solidworks, SolidEdge
  • Experience managing third party
  • Familiar with ISO9001 requirements, continuous improvement, and Six Sigma
  • Experience in a similar, highly engineered, low volume, high mix, capital equipment environment that includes mechanical, electronic, and software composition.
  • Experience in process-oriented business

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Min 3 years current experience preferred, in Mechanical and automation assembly designs, including Manufacturing Engineering background using DFMA/DFx process for design and fabrication.
  • Strong background in Manufacturing Engineering metrology background and product transition into operations preferred
